Council approves retroactive salary increases for two sheriff's employees; merit-board presentation noted
Summary
The Floyd County Council approved retroactive 3% salary increases for Yvonne Haub and Adam Williams, effective Jan. 1; the sheriff also presented a commissary report and received a merit-board presentation required by statute IC 5-11-20-7.
Sheriff Steve Bush reported that two employees — listed as Yvonne Haub and Adam Williams in the minutes — did not have their 3% increases reflected in the Salary Ordinance. Council approved retroactive salary increases for both employees effective Jan. 1 (motion moved by Sam Sarkisian; seconded by Tony Toran), and the motion passed unanimously.
The sheriff's office also submitted its fourth-quarter commissary report; the council received the report as recorded. Elaine Beaty, representing Goelzer Invest Management, provided a presentation to the council required by statute (minutes cite IC 5-11-20-7) related to merit-board/pension information effective July 1, 2025.
The minutes do not record public comment on these items. The approvals were procedural and intended to align the Salary Ordinance with previously budgeted increases.
