Cornell Cooperative Extension prepares for county fair, grape program events

Sandi Bastedo, speaking for Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE), updated the Government Operations Committee on fair preparations and outreach activities. Bastedo said "Only 35 days until the fair," noted 4-H showmanship and paperwork workshops, dog-obedience and a dog show with seven youth participants, and described outreach efforts including a Dundee Plant Swap that drew about 50 people and food-preservation classes.
Bastedo also reported the Finger Lakes Grape Program tailgate meetings have started and the next meeting will be July 7 at Kashong Glen Vineyards; she said she would circulate the Finger Lakes Grape Update by email and that Hans Walter Peterson is expected to attend a Government Operations meeting in late summer or early fall.
