The Commissioners Court approved a $1,632,006.35 change order to the Rick Williamson contract to construct Fairview Road improvements designed to improve safety at a steep approach and accommodate additional truck traffic from a nearby development.
Chris Bosco of Freese Nichols described the work as raising elevation and improving alignment at an intersection where sight lines were poor and a daycare and convenience store are nearby. Commissioners said the project will produce safety benefits for local traffic and noted that funding would come from reallocating money from the East-West arterial project. The motion to authorize the change order passed on a voice vote.
