Commission signs on to alternatives-to-detention grant application to support diversion services

The commission voted to allow commissioners to sign the application. Commissioners praised the program's results — "It's been a great program," one commissioner said — and staff noted the county has also benefited from a state increase to juvenile-justice reinvestment payments that boosts diversion funding. The presenter said she has other funding pursuits under way to support data work and risk-targeting for higher-risk youth.
