Commissioners authorized the chairman to sign a proposed cooperating-agency agreement with the U.S. Forest Service covering projects in the Northern Hills District. Mitch Iverson, speaking on behalf of the Natural Resources Committee, said the Forest Service removed language that would have barred the county from making public comments while serving as a cooperator; the county asked that the restriction be removed and the Forest Service agreed.
The agreement is nonbinding and the county emphasized it imposes no financial obligations. Commissioners thanked Mitch Iverson and noted trust in the district ranger, Patrick Champ, for cooperating on the change. The motion to authorize the chairman to sign the MOU carried on a voice vote.
