City says park boardwalk and overlook progressing; target opening summer next year

Parks staff walked the committee through recent progress on the boardwalk that runs through the woods toward Johns Creek Parkway and Medlock Bridge and described a new overlook structure above the north part of the lake. The chair encouraged members to view a short drone video that illustrates progress and phasing.
Erica told the committee the target for finishing the park project is summer next year and that this schedule aligns with related tunnel work; staff said much of the visible dirt will be removed as construction progresses and the park will open with seating, paths and waterfront elements.
