Commission approves step raises, hires; sheriff reports $866,000 projected federal-prisoner revenue

The board also approved a $50-per-month cell phone per diem for Caylor Benson effective May 17, 2026. All personnel motions were recorded as carried unanimously.
In Sheriff business, Sheriff Brian Dean reported on the federal prisoner program and said "as of today estimated revenue is $866,000.00 for 2026." The commission accepted the report; no change to staffing levels beyond the approved actions was recorded in the minutes.
