County outlines April–June budget calendar; discusses 2026 optional 1% sales tax survey

Sandra Beeman, executive director of administration, reviewed the county’s near-term budget calendar: Joint Powers budget review on April 9 (Public Land Board at 5:15 PM; Fire Board at 6:30 PM); a managers meeting on April 14 for Finance Team training on Munis Payment Entry, the Travel Policy and incident reports; a Board budget workshop on April 15; department budget meetings April 27–May 1; and the Board’s Regular Meeting on May 6 at Wright Town Hall (briefing 1:00 PM, meeting 2:00 PM). Special district budget reviews are scheduled June 2 from 9:30–11:30 AM. Beeman also noted a discussion on the 2026 Optional 1% Sales Tax Survey.
The Board did not take formal budget actions at the March 31 session but directed departments to prepare FY2026–2027 requests aligned to these dates and training guidance. Staff will return with budget materials and trainings as scheduled.
