The Blackford County Board of Commissioners voted Aug. 18 to accept Local Public Agency consulting contracts for Bridge #56 and Bridge #57 with combined consulting fees of $587,311. Highway Superintendent John Pluimer said the contracts cover design and preconstruction work for structures slated for construction in 2030.
"Bridge #56 for $286,665 and Bridge #57 for $300,646," Pluimer said while presenting the contracts. Commissioner Laura Coons moved to accept the contracts and Commissioner John Lancaster seconded; the board approved the motion 2-0. The contracts were described as LPA consulting agreements supporting future construction and state/local oversight during project delivery.
The contracts were presented as part of the highway report; Pluimer also noted the Marsh Road paving project is complete and that county staff will continue inspections and planning ahead of the 2030 construction period. No public testimony was recorded on the bridge contracts.
