Commission approves Relay For Life to use courthouse square Oct. 4

Commissioners unanimously approved Relay For Life's request to use the courthouse square, lawn, north parking lot and restrooms on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., in conjunction with First Saturday on the Square; motion moved by Commissioner John Shorten and seconded by Commissioner Cindy Thompson.
Julie Kemper, representing Relay For Life, asked the commission for permission to move the annual Relay For Life event back to the area around the Vernon County Courthouse. Commissioner John Shorten moved to approve use of the square, the courthouse lawn, the north parking lot and the courthouse restrooms on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., in conjunction with First Saturday on the Square. Commissioner Cindy Thompson seconded the motion and the record states the motion passed unanimously.
