Mike Taylor moved to set the 2027 Sheriff wage at $110,510 with a 3.5% annual lift for the following three years; the motion was seconded and the roll call vote was unanimous (McMillan Urell-yes, Taylor-yes, Nelson-yes, McDonough-yes).
The committee discussed how the Sheriffs increase would affect parity among other elected officials and agreed to use comparable-county data to inform future decisions. The motion notes options for annual increases in the 3.5%–5.5% range but the committee selected the 3.5% path in this vote.
