Recovery coach still blocked from Trempealeau County Jail; $8,500 in grant funding tied to services at risk

"The recovery coach is still not meeting with inmates at the Trempealeau County Jail," Mary Campbell Wood said, adding that she has contacted jail administration twice and has met with the coach and the coach’s supervisor to request a meeting date. She said she is awaiting a response and has discussed the matter with CJS staff.
Council members offered assistance. Judge Clark said that if he or Community Justice Services staff could help facilitate access, they would be willing to do so. The minutes record no immediate resolution or commitment from Trempealeau County officials during the meeting.
The council packet notes that the $8,500 grant allocation for the recovery coach depends on the coach’s ability to meet with inmates in person or virtually.
