Board hears update on municipal cooperative agreement and potential county additions

The board discussed the municipal cooperative agreement and outreach to other counties about joining the consortium. Lynn Marinelli said she would check with the county attorney on the municipal cooperative agreement; the City of Auburn and Soil and Water have not yet seen the final signature page.
On expansion, USI staff reported Lewis County may revisit joining early in 2027, and that St. Lawrence County described the consortium concept as new to them. USI noted Schuyler and Chemung Counties already operate their own 5G consortiums and may be contacted about interest in joining. No formal expansion action was taken at the meeting.
