Lancaster County approves $114,544 PCCD indigent defense grant renewal for Public Defender

On May 13 the Lancaster County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) Indigent Defense Grant renewal for the Public Defender's Office.
The grant totals $114,544 for the period July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027 and is intended to reimburse expenses incurred for court-appointed counsel in post-conviction proceedings and to cover salary costs for a Social Services Caseworker and a Client and Litigation Support Specialist. Commissioner Joshua G. Parsons moved the approval and Commissioner Alice Yoder seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
