Commission hears Mid‑Snake River update: snowpack and cloud seeding helping reservoirs

Commissioner Arlen Morgan briefed the Planning & Zoning Commission on the Mid‑Snake River Commission’s work. Morgan said the body added two members, expanded its focus from water quality to include water quantity and related issues, and is trying to increase public awareness and county participation.
Morgan reported that reservoir and river conditions are favorable because of a substantial mountain snowpack and observed that cloud seeding has provided benefits when conditions allow. “Cloud seeding has shown itself to be beneficial but requires the right conditions to be effective,” Morgan said.
