The Tonasket School District Board of Directors met June 25, 2025, and approved several routine and substantive items, including the district’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) four-year plans and a new Teacher–School Board contract covering 2025–2028.
During the meeting, Chair Joyce Fancher and board members Sharron Cox, Rac'qel Plank and Ernesto Cerrillo were present. The board unanimously approved the consent agenda after a motion by Sharron Cox.
Board members discussed details of the CTE frameworks and advisory meetings before approving the CTE four-year plans on a motion by Ernesto Cerrillo. They also approved the Teacher–School Board contract for 2025–2028 on a motion by Sharron Cox; both motions were recorded as passing with unanimous votes.
Superintendent Kevin Young relayed that “OSPI has sent an email that migrant funding is being cut,” but he told the board the timing of the reduction was uncertain. The superintendent also said that PSE negotiations had concluded and described the process as "positive and smooth." The board agreed to reschedule the July budget hearing and regular board meeting from July 23 to July 24.
The board held a 30-minute executive session beginning at 6:55 p.m. to review the performance of a public employee; the minutes state no action was taken. Chair Fancher adjourned the meeting at 8:50 p.m. The minutes of this June 25 meeting were later approved at the July 24, 2025 meeting.
Key procedural details: motions for the CTE plans and the teacher contract were recorded as unanimous; the executive session was stated as "no action" in the minutes.
