Council approves parks capital funding, green-lighted grant proposals

The council approved $5,000 from the Parks Non-Reverting fund for contractual services and supplies and approved $410,970.49 from Parks Capital Non-Reverting, which included $198,470.49 from a Legacy Foundation grant, $12,500 from the Parks Foundation and $200,000 for Sam Peden Community Park.
Denison also listed grant proposals to pursue: READI 2.0/Indiana Economic Development Corp, Samtec Cares for parks digitalization, and an Indiana Department of Health Tactical Urbanism grant. The council moved and seconded the approvals and authorized staff to submit the grant applications.
These appropriations and grant pursuits support park capital improvements and program digitalization; the funding mix relies on local foundation grants and county capital reserves.
