Kendall County accepts $350,000 rural ambulance grant to replace ambulance

Kendall County commissioners authorized the county judge to accept a rural ambulance grant award and execute necessary documents after staff confirmed the award covers $350,000 toward a ground ambulance.
The judge told the court the county's earlier application for a rural ambulance had been granted and that the $350,000 award will offset the purchase of one of the two ambulances in the budget. Commissioner McCall explained he had checked with the comptroller's office and coordinated with the grant coordinator; he credited county staff (Brian Webb was named for providing required documentation) for ensuring the county met the grant deadline. "I'm grateful that Brian's assistance... helped ensure the county met the grant requirements and remained eligible for this funding," McCall said. The court voted 5-0 to accept the award and authorize execution of the documents.
Staff said the award will be used to purchase an adequate ground ambulance; the timing and fiscal-year application of the funds will be resolved administratively.
