"Yes, we are requesting commissioner's court waive the development permit application fee for individuals who are needing to repair their house following the recent flooding," she said. The judge moved adoption of Order O20260728-1, which sets a submission deadline of Tuesday, 12/02/2026, excluding federal holidays.
The waiver is aimed at speeding recovery work and reducing up‑front costs for households filing for permits. Commissioners said the emergency action was intended to ensure residents could begin recovery work and that staff would continue to work with applicants who need additional time or documentation. The motion carried on a unanimous vote.
Next steps: the county will circulate the signed order and continue permitting support for affected property owners; residents with specific questions were directed to the development office.
