Public Health Director Kathleen Cuddy and WIC Program Coordinator Stacy Carter updated the Cayuga County Board of Health on Jan. 27 about staffing and enrollment in the county WIC program. Carter said the program currently serves 1,393 participants, which she reported is 93% of the targeted caseload, and noted staff will attend outreach events to boost enrollment.
Carter described ongoing recruitment for either a nutritionist or a competent professional authority and said a new WIC assistant is scheduled to start Feb. 17. The board discussed outreach efforts; no budget votes tied to new hires were recorded in the meeting minutes. The board approved routine claims and other agenda items before moving to program updates.
