WIC program at 93% enrollment as county health department seeks staff

Carter said the program currently serves 1,393 participants, which she reported is 93% of the targeted caseload, and noted staff will attend outreach events to boost enrollment.
Carter described ongoing recruitment for either a nutritionist or a competent professional authority and said a new WIC assistant is scheduled to start Feb. 17. The board discussed outreach efforts; no budget votes tied to new hires were recorded in the meeting minutes. The board approved routine claims and other agenda items before moving to program updates.
