Chantell Hotaling and Keith Batman of the Cayuga County Board of Elections presented January activity to the Government Operations Committee, reporting 719 voter-related transactions for the month, including 191 new registrations, 136 address changes, 49 party changes, 156 name changes and 90 incomplete records. The presentation said staff completed the Board's annual survey to the State Board of Elections and continued work on the 2026 voter registration plan.
Hotaling noted administrative updates underway: "We updated the Official Cayuga County Directory of Officials for 2026," and the office is revising its procedures handbook and completing the voter registration plan required for 2026 elections. The report identified data reconciliations with town and county clerks and other routine validation steps performed as part of the year-end survey.
The committee did not take formal action on elections items during the meeting; the update was presented for information and operational oversight.
