Highway Superintendent John Pluimer told the council that Bridge #18 at Lake Mohee was ready to begin work this week and presented competing quotes for a new radio system: $47,000 from J&K Communications and $99,542.18 from ERS Radios. Pluimer also described truck purchase options, noting quotes ranging from $55,000 down to $48,512 and a used Selking truck offered at $46,000 he would like to use as a salt truck.
Commissioners signaled approval for the equipment purchase plans and Pluimer said the new truck purchase would be made from his 2025 budget. The council did not record a separate formal vote for the truck purchase at the Sept. 4 meeting; commissioners gave approval to pursue the purchase and funding was described as coming from the 2025 highway budget.
