Yates County advances ReConnect broadband: splitters procured and Phase 3 contract awarded

A resolution authorizing the purchase of twelve 1x4 Corning optical splitters named Graybar as the low, responsible quote and authorized procurement for Phase 2 (Resolution language). The measure carried on roll-call with one dissent (Legislator Terry Button).
Separately, after bids were received and reviewed by New York Engineering Services, the Legislature voted to authorize the Chair to sign a contract with Eustic Cable Enterprise, Ltd. as the low bidder for Phase 3 construction. The bid award and contract authorization (Resolution 244-26) were approved by roll-call; the minutes record one 'No' vote by Legislator Button.
Officials said the purchases and contract award are steps to implement fiber buildout under grant conditions of the ReConnect award (NY1702-A61 & A75). The resolutions direct procurement and contract execution after County Attorney review and instruct staff to charge costs to the ReConnect project accounts. Consent documents will be distributed to county procurement and project staff for implementation.
