Council adopts $6.9M fall budget supplemental, adds funds for vandalized EV chargers

The council adopted Ordinance 16 on its second reading to approve the 2024 fall supplemental budget. Budget manager Matt Grama said the only change since first reading was the addition of $56,119 in revenue and corresponding spending authority to cover insurance claim proceeds and repairs to nine vandalized EV charging stations. Overall, the fall supplemental increases the City of Aspen 2024 budget by $6.9 million and includes a $48,600 increase in the Aspen Mini Storage Fund.
Council had no substantial questions and voted to adopt the ordinance. The measure passed by roll call with councilors voting in favor. The budget amendment takes effect according to municipal budget procedures.
What’s next: staff will proceed with the approved repairs and incorporate the supplemental amounts into the 2024 financials.
