On Aug. 13 the Horry County Council advanced multiple zoning items: Ordinance 58‑2024 (rezoning PIN 45708010033 to multi‑residential) passed its second reading after no public comment; Ordinances 62‑2024 and 63‑2024 passed their second readings unanimously. Council also took up Ordinance 43‑2024 on first reading, accepted an amendment that reduced unit counts, removed multifamily, increased lot sizes and added a right‑turn lane, and approved the ordinance as amended.
Council discussion noted staff and applicant coordination to make the project more palatable to the community. One councilmember, Dr. Dukes (speaker 18), thanked the applicant for working with staff to make changes prior to final consideration.
