Faribault County SWCD keeps 2025 leadership, approves governance rules and compensation

The Faribault County Soil & Water Conservation District board formally reappointed its 2025 leadership at a Jan. 14 reorganizational session and approved a package of governance items intended to preserve continuity into 2026. Board member Bill Anderson moved to keep all positions the same as 2025; the motion was seconded by Randy Feist and recorded as carried. The board list shows Michael Humburg as chairman, Bill Anderson as vice chairman, Neal Mensing as secretary, Randy Feist as treasurer and Jeff Bell as public relations representative.
The board also set its regular monthly meeting date as the second Wednesday at 8:30 a.m., approved a supervisor compensation rate of $125 per meeting and adopted the 2026 IRS mileage reimbursement rate of $0.725. Other administrative approvals included designating First Bank, Blue Earth as the official depository and the Faribault County Register as the official newspaper, authorizing check‑signing by staff Nathan (Nate) Carr and Shane Johnson and by supervisors Michael Humburg and Randy Feist, and naming Carr and Johnson as official ELINK signatories. Motions to approve the Board of Supervisors Operating Rules and the revised personnel policy were recorded as carried.
