Jackson County commissioners approve $7.8 million in claims, authorize year-end payroll

The Jackson County Commissioners on Dec. 9 approved claims dated Dec. 2, 2025, totaling $7,804,628.64 and payroll dated Nov. 28, 2025, totaling $583,037.11.
Commissioner Drew Storey moved approval of the claims and payroll; Commissioner Andrew Stauffer seconded both motions. The board recorded “Motion carried. (3 yes votes)” for each vote. Auditor Melissa Gray was present and distributed the November fund balance report before commissioners acted on the motions.
The board also authorized the auditor’s office to continue processing payroll and claims through year-end as confirmed by County Attorney Susan Bevers. Commissioners voted to adjourn for 2025 and reconvene on Jan. 6, 2026, at 9:00 AM.
