Cayuga County approves shelter, visitation and youth services contracts totaling hundreds of thousands

The Legislature approved several Social Services contracts on Jan. 29. Resolution 12-26 authorizes a contract with Chapel House for temporary shelter services for eligible men at a rate of $98 per person per day through Dec. 31, 2026; those costs will be paid from the Social Services budget and are state-reimbursable (29%).
Resolution 13-26 authorizes a short-term contract with Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes to provide supervised visitation services for Department-referred clients at a rate of $55 per 60-minute unit through June 30, 2026 while the department issues an RFP. The Legislature also approved multiple contracts with Cayuga Centers for family preservation, family support, enhanced foster-parent support, restorative case management and diversion case management, authorizing up to $550,000 for a suite of services and specific program allocations (including a $453,170 allocation for RCM/DCM and $342,261 for respite beds under separate resolutions).
Health & Human Services Chair Amy Sargent and Ways & Means Chair Elane Daly sponsored the package; motions were adopted as recorded. The resolutions require contracting officers and the department to execute agreements consistent with budgeted appropriations and state reimbursement rules.
