Cayuga County Legislature OKs 2026 agency contracts, tourism funding tops $1.28M

The Cayuga County Legislature on Jan. 29 approved Resolution 02-26, authorizing the chair to sign 2026 contracts with county partners funded in the adopted budget, including $1,282,500 for the Cayuga County Office of Tourism and $700,000 for the Cayuga County Soil and Water Conservation District.
Ways & Means Chair Elane Daly presented the measure and described the list of budgeted appropriations; the Legislature voted to approve the contract authorization (motion by Robert Shea, second by Nightengale, recorded as all in favor). The resolution also listed line-item allocations to local libraries (for example, Aurora Free Library, Powers Library and others at $3,500 each).
The action authorizes the chair to sign vendor contracts subject to County Attorney review and directs the Finance Director to make the necessary journal entries. The approvals cover diverse services budgeted in the 2026 operating plan and are routine authorizations allowing county departments to execute previously budgeted spending.
