Downtown Christiansburg Inc. seeks volunteers, submits tourism grant and readies partner program

"So we've got the Rockin' Maine concert going on this, Saturday," he said, and asked for volunteer help with tasks such as ID checks. He said DCI will submit a Virginia tourism micro-marketing leverage grant and is awaiting a community vitality grant decision expected late August or early September.
Alan described a planned partner program that would allow DCI to hire contractors for photography, build a downtown business directory and community events calendar, and produce marketing collateral for peak visitation weekends. DCI expects those grants, if awarded, would reduce the organization's operational reliance on volunteers and allow professional support for downtown marketing.
