Staff said the ordinance has passed first reading and that the second reading is scheduled for Oct. 7; because the summary plan description would be affected by the amendment, staff will hold SPD updates until the ordinance is adopted to avoid producing outdated plan materials.

Trustees asked for confirmation of timing and any downstream administrative steps; staff said the actuary and counsel will be consulted if wording requires benefit or calculation changes. No formal board action was recorded at the Sept. 16 session related to the ordinance beyond acknowledging the city's action and planning to revise the SPD after final adoption.
