Selectboard reviews EV chargers, flashing crosswalks, skate-park completion and other grant-funded projects

Town Manager T. Marsh reviewed a slate of capital projects and related grants. He said Norwich Technologies and GMP are working on expanding the footprint for charging stations at Town Hall and that Level 3 chargers are planned for the far side of the parking lot. Marsh also reported possible work at Depot Ave., the River St. Commerce Park entrance and a park-and-ride project tied to grant funding.
Marsh said flashing crosswalk signs for Main Street, the library and Kennedy Pond had an initial estimated cost of about $37,000; he said the highway department can install the equipment, the town's share would be $10,000 and a $17,000 grant will cover part of the balance. He noted the skate park has bond and grant funding and the contractor has been contacted to schedule project completion. Picnic tables and grills have been installed at the Railyards and a proposal for additional raised-bed community gardens is under consideration, with brownfield cleanup grant funds available for future expansion.
