Commission approves $1,500 for Minneapolis High School after‑prom

"We are here today requesting money for the after prom event in the amount of $1,500," Anderson said. Commissioners discussed prior practices, with one noting the county had supported similar events in the past. After brief discussion about whether such assistance should be budgeted annually, a motion to grant $1,500 was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
The funds will be applied to the venue, refreshments and door prizes, according to Anderson. Commissioners suggested that if this becomes recurring, it should be reflected in next year’s budget planning so the expense is anticipated in appropriations.
