A resident told the council that the airport board's 10-year anniversary of the terminal on Aug. 11 was well attended and included airplane displays, donated refreshments and community participation.
"We had over 200 people there," the resident said, noting about 12 airplanes were on display and that Dan Wegmuller gave a 95-year-old Korean War veteran a ride in an antique plane. The resident thanked pilots and local businesses that donated refreshments and a door prize.
The remarks were delivered during the portion of the meeting for business presented by older persons/public comment; no formal council action on the airport event was recorded in the transcript.
