Township reports accepted; Road & Bridge update, variance hearing and water-permit notice announced

County Clerk Karen Madison presented annual reports for Cedar Township and Spring Creek Township, which the commission approved. Karen Madison, County Clerk, presented the Cedar Township and Spring Creek Township annual reports; Chairman Maxwell moved and Commissioner Wilt seconded approval and the motion passed 3-0. Lucas Goff then presented the Road and Bridge Project Report for April 2026.
Goff also announced a public hearing for a variance request related to sign placement near county-owned property in Arkansas City and read a public notice for a water pollution control permit applied for by the City of Udall. The commission offered thanks for support of the Cowley County 4-H program; these announcements were informational and no votes on the hearing or permit were recorded at the meeting.
