Septic line sheared under Easton school; cleanup done, bleachers due 07/29 and solar net meter pending
Summary
Facilities lead Jeff Brennan reported a sheared septic main under the school that was repaired and cleaned up under an insurance claim. The new gym floor is complete, bleachers were delayed by freight but expected 07/29/2026, and the solar array passed inspection pending net-meter installation by the utility.

Jeff Brennan, who delivered the facilities and transportation report, told the board crews found a sheared main septic line under the school and closed restrooms while repairs and cleanup were completed. "Once the pipe was repaired and everything was restored to normal, I was able to get a hold of insurance," Brennan said. Belfer Restoration handled cleanup over two days, and an insurance claim has been submitted to cover cleanup and replacement of moisture-absorbent sand.
Brennan also reviewed capital projects: "The gym floor is complete... We have received the final invoicing" and he said bleachers were delayed by train but were scheduled for delivery on 07/29/2026 and would be installed shortly thereafter. On solar, Brennan reported the L&I inspection was completed and signed off, and that the district is "waiting for PSC to come in and essentially install the net meter" — he said PSE anticipates arriving in a couple of weeks. He noted potential engineering costs to verify electrical capacity and that the district is working with the county to reuse a prior solar analysis to avoid duplicate engineering costs.
Brennan closed with routine transportation maintenance updates and small exterior repairs and grounds work planned for late summer.
