The Scott Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees voted June 25 to renew Superintendent Micheline Miglis's employment agreement for a three-year term beginning July 1, 2025 and ending June 30, 2028. President Brandon Fawaz noted the contract extends two additional years beyond the prior agreement.
The contract sets Miglis's 2025-26 salary at Step 10, $178,709 per year, and specifies district health and welfare contributions of $12,000 annually, a $400 monthly vehicle allowance and a $100 monthly cell phone allowance; the district will also pay Miglis's annual ACSA membership dues. The minutes state that "upon giving 30 days' advance written notice to Superintendent, the Board may terminate this Agreement at any time" and that in such a termination the district will pay up to six months' salary and provide six months' health benefits unless the superintendent secures other employment sooner.
The motion to approve the employment agreement passed on a roll call vote of 3-0-2 (Ayes: Brandon Fawaz, Jason Finley, Sandy Hogge; Absent: Jim Harris, Jennifer Thackeray). No additional public comment was recorded on the contract at the meeting.
