Commissioners adopt changes to agricultural conditional uses after public concern

Chairman Sara Gjerde read the second reading of Ordinance 02-26, which amends Section 2.04.04 (conditional uses) and Section 2.04.05 (area regulations) of the Agricultural District portion of the zoning ordinance. "This is the second Reading of ORDINANCE #02-26, an ordinance entitled, an ordinance amending section 2.04.04 conditional uses (Agricultural District) and Section 2.04.05 area regulations [Agricultural District] of the Zoning Ordinance of Clark County adopted by Ordinance 01-14, as amended," Gjerde said.
During community comments before the ordinance reading, Jeremy Lund of Siegel Barnett & Schultz Attorneys told the board the change "would prevent new colonies from coming into and expanding within Clark County" by imposing restrictions on the number of dwellings per quarter section of land. Commissioners voted 5-0 to adopt Ordinance 02-26; the ordinance is on file in the Auditor’s office.
