Edgewater council adopts final FY2025 budget and millage rates totaling $73 million

The council adopted Resolution 2024-R-24 setting the operating millage at 6.33. Staff also presented voter-approved debt service millage rates: 0.0200 for the animal shelter (R-25) and 0.1267 for parks debt service (R-26), both designed to cover principal and interest for those voter-approved obligations.
Vass summarized the proposed final budget as a citywide operating and capital plan of $73,003,049 for FY2025 and identified about $1.2 million in CRA carryforward projects and funding for a new economic redevelopment director position (~$106,000). Council closed the hearings and approved the resolutions by roll call; the transcript records unanimous yes votes by present council members.
