Commission forwards commercial-industrial rezoning recommendations for two parcels along June's Way

Planning staff presented two separate rezoning requests for properties near June's Way in Toccoa: one submitted by S and W Holdings (Parcel 044087 A) and the adjacent parcel tied to the Roger Caudell estate. Staff said the area already contains a substantial industrial footprint and recommended rezoning each parcel from Commercial General to Commercial Industrial to conform zoning to existing uses.
"There is a intensive commercial zoning to the north... staff does believe that a rezoning to commercial industrial to be an appropriate zoning based on the present utilization of the parcels in the area," the staff member (speaker 4) told the commission. No members of the public spoke in opposition or in favor for either item.
Commissioner action: a motion to approve the rezoning(s) was made, seconded, and carried by voice vote; the Planning Commission forwarded the recommendations to the Board of Commissioners for final action on March 25.
