The Stephens County Board of Commissioners approved a contract with Pyro Shows East Coast Inc. for the county's annual July fireworks show and authorized the county administrator to sign contract documents.
The recreation director, Chris Rainey, was present for questions. Commissioners discussed a hold‑harmless clause; one commissioner asked for a specific hold‑harmless sentence to be added and staff confirmed that language was included in the final contract. The board then moved, seconded and approved the contract by voice vote.
The contract is accounted for in the recreation budget, and commissioners noted that sponsorships typically offset some costs.
