Park Side students program light show; read-a-thon raises nearly $10,000

Trustees spotlighted student achievements at Park Side and Brook Haven during the Dec. 15 meeting. Park Side fourth graders, supported by Stacy O'Donnell, described how they helped program a light show—created by Mr. DelMonte—that runs each evening on the main building facade and features music from Park Side and Brook Haven ensembles.
Park Side Principal Molly Bulwa reported that the Read-a-thon was "a huge success" and that the school "earned close to $10k for the classes." Mr. Sewell organized and staffed the book fair, which Bulwa said contributed to the holiday atmosphere. The Board asked for a California Dashboard presentation next month and the administration plans a professional development day on Jan. 5, 2026.
