Commissioner Deloyce McKee moved for the resolution, Commissioner Gary D Yenzer seconded, and the motion "carried 5-0." The special hearing opened at 6:30 p.m. and closed at 7:30 p.m.
Commissioners told the petitioner and members of the public they preferred using an advisory election to gather more information before any final action. The board noted low turnout at the hearing and asked staff to draft the resolution that would place the question before voters, per the motion recorded by the clerk. The board adjourned the special meeting at 7:45 p.m.
