"Basically, what resolution 2026‑08 states is to set a public hearing, which is notated in the resolution for May 12 at your regular commission meeting at 08:30 AM," staff said. The resolution also outlines financing terms, CID boundaries, and a required certified‑mail notice to property owners and their right to file a protest petition. Commissioner Nathan Leiker moved to adopt the notice resolution; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
The motion authorizes the county clerk to publish two consecutive weeks of notice of the hearing and proceed with the next steps of the CID process should the commission choose to advance the project after public comment. Staff said additional procedural steps and potential protests will be handled through the established process.
