The Board voted to change the zoning map for a parcel on West Point Road back to light industrial so the current owner can use it for parking work trucks and a small office.
Staff explained the parcel (listed in staff materials as 3176/3190 West Point Road) had been rezoned to light industrial in the 1990s for a proposed junkyard that never materialized; the owner now intends to use the site for work-truck parking and an office. Staff noted some parcels are constrained by flood-prone areas and that there are two houses on the combined property. Commissioners expressed concern that truck parking could push nearby residential uses out because of noise; staff and commissioners discussed buffers and site constraints.
After no public speakers, a motion to approve the correction to light industrial was made, seconded, and approved by raised hands. Staff said the property owner had been notified.
