Board Corrects Zoning for Dusty's Automotive at 2913 West Point Road

Commissioners approved a correction restoring Dusty's Automotive at 2913 West Point Road to its prior commercial designation after staff said the parcel was incorrectly rezoned to suburban medium density (SUR) on Aug. 1.
At the June 11 meeting the commission approved a correction to the zoning map for Dusty's Automotive at 2913 West Point Road.
Staff explained that the business had operated for years as general commercial prior to the Aug. 1 rezoning and that the map should reflect that historical commercial use. "His was actually general commercial prior to August 1 and then some reason got, zoned to SUR," staff said. Commissioners noted the surrounding area is residential but that the site had an established commercial use and voted to correct the zoning map accordingly.
A commissioner moved to approve the correction; the motion was seconded and carried by raised hands. Staff confirmed the property owner had been notified of the correction process.
