Commission discusses Rock the Plains planning; adopts speed-limit resolution and routine approvals

County officials updated commissioners on preparations for the Rock the Plains event. Emergency Management Coordinator Amy Terrapin said the planning team meets weekly to review event plans, and commissioners discussed the status of contracts and insurance coverage. Undersheriff Chris Herbel and Economic Development Director Stephanie Imthurn also participated in the discussion; Brandyn Steen joined via Zoom.
In other business, the commissioners adopted Resolution 2026-15 to set a 15 mph speed limit and authorize traffic control devices, including a dead-end sign on 31085 McFarland Road in Alma Township (motion MacGregor; second Hier), and approved April 27 meeting minutes, payroll for May 1 and daily statements for April 24, 27, 28, 29 and 30. The board adjourned at 11:27 a.m. and scheduled the next regular meeting for May 11 at 9:00 a.m.
