Council approves 10 new streetlights on Old Dubuque Road and Chamber Drive

The Anamosa City Council approved Resolution 2025-04 to add 10 new streetlights at specified locations on Old Dubuque Road and Chamber Drive after staff and the street superintendent described the recommended placements. The superintendent said the package includes one larger light at the five-way intersection, seven lights on Old Dubuque Road near the school to aid pedestrian visibility, and two on Chamber Drive; he noted constraints where existing water hardware limits pole placements.
Shane Brown, Street Superintendent, said the installations follow prior lighting efforts (14 lights installed previously) and that the recommended locations are intended to fill dark spots left after the removal of a substation. Council approved the resolution on roll call.
