Winn Parish reappoints Karen Tyler as secretary/treasurer and renews health coverage

The Police Jury reappointed Karen Tyler as Secretary/Treasurer to a two-year term at the Jan. 20 meeting. Juror Kyle Potts moved for reappointment, seconded by Author Robinson; President Frank McLaren praised Tyler, stating, "she does a good job and we don’t need to lose her or we would all be lost." The motion carried with the recorded voting pattern used elsewhere in the meeting.
Separately, the jury renewed its health-care coverage with Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Louisiana, effective Feb. 1, 2026. The motion to renew was made by Author Robinson and seconded by Darrell Franks and was recorded as carried without abstention. Both actions were recorded in the minutes and will be reflected in personnel and fiscal planning for the coming year.
Nominations for 2026 leadership followed: Frank McLaren was nominated for President and Deionne Carpenter for Vice President; nominations were closed and both were thanked for their continued service.
