Finance Committee approves IT renewals and accepts $50,000 cybersecurity grant

The Finance Committee approved multiple IT service renewals and a cybersecurity grant on April 7 to sustain the county's network and security posture.
IT Director B. Sikes presented contracts: an Extrahop renewal not to exceed $28,798 (effective June 30, 2026–June 29, 2027), a VMWare renewal up to $35,200 (June 4, 2026–June 3, 2027), Switchvox Titanium support and maintenance up to $24,564 (May 11, 2026–May 10, 2030), and a KnowBe4 security awareness training renewal totaling $12,422.41, of which $7,446 will be paid by WCCH IT. Motions to authorize the chairman to sign each contract were carried with recorded ayes by the five present supervisors.
Separately, the committee authorized acceptance of a FY2023 Cybersecurity Grant from New York State Homeland Security and Emergency Services for a minimum of $50,000 to improve IT security through August 31, 2027. The minutes note earlier permission to apply had been granted by the committee in March 2025.
